Gameday Preview: Dallas Mavericks Ready to Start Season Against Loaded Los Angeles Lakers

Healthy or not, the Dallas Mavericks head into the Staples Center in Los Angeles tonight to take on the Lakers. They will do so without starting forward and center Dirk Nowitzki and Chris Kaman.

The Mavs will have to depend on Brandan Wright, who is starting at center, to help contain the Lakers loaded frontcourt of Paul Gasol and Dwight Howard. It is literally a tall task to say the least.

Dallas will also have to depend on Darren Collison to play big and slow down Steve Nash. The Mavs waived backup point guard Delonte West on Monday.

Kobe Bryant was questionable earlier today, but will play in tonight's game.

The game can be heard locally on 103.3 ESPN Dallas.
