Zach Walters hit his third home run in the second inning to give Cleveland a 1-0 lead.
The Tribe added two more runs in the fourth when Jason Kipnis doubled in Carlos Santana and scored on a single by Mike Aviles.
Cleveland's last two runs came on a single by Michaeel Bourn in the seventh and a home run by Aviles in the ninth.
Corey Kluber (13-6) will start this afternoon for Cleveland against Phil Hughes (13-8) of Minnesota. The game will start at 1:10 Eastern time.
