Cleveland Indians radio voice Tom Hamilton was named the Ohio Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association, MLB.com reported.

Hamilton captured the award for the sixth time as the Tribe returned to the playoffs for the first time since 2007.

Entering his 24th year in the booth, Hamilton is on his way to a Hall of Fame career. His play-calling skills are top-notch, and he's added a strong dose of opinion since he became the lead announcer in 1998 after Herb Score's retirement.
