The Oakland A’s beat the Indians 7-3 to win a three-game series on Sunday after breaking a tie with a pair of fifth-inning home runs.
The Tribe was playing catchup with Oakland for the first half of the game. Ryan Raburn hit his 15th home run of the year to cut the A’s lead to 2-1 in the second.
Cleveland tied the game 3-3 in the fifth when Jason Kipnis hit an RBI single and scored on a double by Carlos Santana.
However, Oakland tagged Tribe starter Scott Kazmir (7-6) in the bottom of the fifth with solo home runs by center fielder Chris Young and third baseman Alberto Callaspo.
Oakland extended its lead over Cleveland for the final wild-card spot to 4.5 games.
Danny Salazar will go to the mound tonight as the visiting Tribe opens a three-game series with the Los Angeles Angels.
