Ken Whisenhunt is available to be hired as the Cleveland Browns head coach now that the San Diego Chargers are out of the playoffs.

Whisenhunt is the offensive coordinator for the Chargers, who lost to the Denver Broncos in the AFC semifinals today 24-17.

Tom Withers of the Associated Press told the Browns website on Friday that the team would be smart to fill its coaching vacancy soon.

"I think if Whisenhunt is their guy and the Chargers get eliminated, they have to act quickly," Withers said. 'The sooner the better on all of this so they can clear out this ugly cloud hanging over Berea right now."

The Broncos' win over the Chargers had another affect on the Browns. According to the Beacon Journal, the Browns' No. 1 pick in the 2014 NFL Draft that they received from the Colts for Trent Richardson will be pick No. 26. The Browns' own pick will be No. 4.
