Cleveland Browns Postmortem: What Went Wrong Against the Jacksonville Jaguars

The Cleveland Browns did a lot of things right against the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, Brandon Weeden sunk the team’s efforts by coughing up the ball three times in the last two minutes of the first half.

That was the Browns’ downfall in a 32-28 loss to the Jaguars. After a hopeful 3-2 start, the Browns have gone 1-6, and just like that, it’s another one of “those” seasons.

Another problem was the defense’s inability to take the ball away from the Jaguars. Joe Haden had one interception, but that was the only turnover the Browns forced.

After Josh Gordon capped an amazing performance for the Browns with a 95-yard pass play for a touchdown, the Cleveland defense needed to stop the Jaguars to seal the victory.

Instead, Jacksonville drove the length of the field for the winning score, as lifelong Browns fan Cecil Shorts III beat Haden on a 20-yard touchdown pass.

Now Weeden has a concussion, so the Browns may be forced to start Alex Tanney, who wasn’t even on the team two weeks ago.

If the Browns can’t beat the Jaguars at home, can they beat anybody?
