The trade deadline is six days away, so Campbell may only have one game to show what he can do before the Browns go into “wait until next season” mode.
If the Browns lose this week, don’t be surprised to see wide receiver Josh Gordon get traded. This would build up the Browns’ stockpile of draft picks.
Win or lose, Campbell should also get a chance to play against the Baltimore Ravens on Nov. 3 before the bye week.
With Brian Hoyer on the injured list and if Campbell and Brandon Weeden can’t lead the Browns to victory this year, the front office should have no opposition to its plan to trade a pile of draft picks for the best quarterback they can get in the 2014 NFL draft.
