The Cleveland Browns’ injury problems will open starting opportunities this week for offensive lineman Oneil Cousins and linebacker Quentin Groves.

Barkevious Mingo (lung) and Jabaal Sheard (knee) should sit out this Saturday’s preseason game in Indianapolis, so Groves is set to start at outside linebacker opposite Paul Kruger, according to a Beacon Journal report.

Cousins will move from backup tackle to starting right guard after ankle injuries to Shawn Lauvao and Jason Pinkston, according to the Plain Dealer.

Rookie Garrett Gilkey took over last week after Pinkston was hurt against the Detroit Lions. The Browns tried to trade for Seattle guard John Moffitt, but he failed a physical so the team sent him back to the Seahawks.

Also, second-year defensive end Billy Winn will start in place of Desmond Bryant (back spasms).

Browns head coach Rob Chudzinski said the starters should play into the third quarter against the Colts.

In other news, the Browns cut punter T.J. Conley, meaning Spencer Lanning has the punting job unless the team signs someone else.
