The Cleveland Browns had a great night on the field and a bad night in the trainer’s room as they beat the Detroit Lions 24-6 on Thursday.
Backup quarterback Jason Campbell also looked good for the second straight week. He completed 12-of-14 passes for 106 yards and a 14-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Jackson.
Trent Richardson saw his first action of the season, rushing six times for 33 yards, including one run for a 17-yard gain.
The Browns defense kept Matt Stafford and the Lions out of the end zone. Stafford did not have Calvin Johnson at his disposal, but he relied heavily on Reggie Bush.
Still, the Lions could only manage field goals by David Akers and Norway’s YouTube trick kicker, Havard “Kickalicious” Rugland.
Unfortunately for the Browns, they were plagued with injuries all night, most notably to Dion Lewis (broken leg) and Barkevious Mingo (bruised lung).
The Browns won both of their home preseason games, and the other two are on the road, starting on Saturday night in Indianapolis against the Colts.
