Ryan Ludwick's first inning RBI groundout was the lone run the Reds produced all evening, it was all Phillies from there on out. Starter Homer Bailey, who gave up just a single earned run over seven-plus innings in his last outing, lasted just three and two-thirds of an inning allowing six earned runs on seven hits and walking two batters.

Zack Cozart got the first inning going with a one-out double to left field. Following a Brandon Phillips walk, Todd Frazier singled to load the bases and bring up Ludwick. He grounded out on the second pitch of the at-bat to score Cozart and give the Reds a 1-0 lead, which lasted just three innings.

Bailey looked strong early as he allowed just three base runners through the first three innings. The Phillies blew it open in the fourth.

Ryan Howard led off the top half of the frame with a walk. The Phillies then had back-to-back doubles and a home run which made it 4-1, and two more runs scored following RBI singles.

Phillies starter Cole Hamels didn't allow a hit after the fourth inning. He finish with 10 strikeouts over seven complete innings.

Logan Ondrusek and J.J. Hoover pitched in relief and had scoreless outings before Sean Marshall was roughed up for five earned runs in less than an inning of work. His ERA rose to a 12.15 on the season.

The Reds and Phillies will face off in the rubber match tomorrow afternoon at 1:35 ET before heading the Washington to take on the Nationals for a three-game series.
