With one swing of the bat in the bottom of the fifth inning, Brandon Phillips made history by becoming only the second Reds second baseman to collect 100 RBI's in a season. The first to do so was Joe Morgan.
Leading off the fifth, Phillips took a 1-0 curveball and tattooed it into the seats into left field. He knew it was gone as soon as it left the bat.
Known more for his glove, Phillips has been in the top ten on the National League RBI list almost all season. The three-time all-star had a previous career-high 98 RBI's in 2009.
