But before Wednesday night's game against the St. Louis Cardinals, Phillips had some choice words for a Cincinnati beat writer, who earlier in the day tweeted about Phillips' on-base percentage.
In a video recorded by a local ESPN affiliate, Phillips can be heard saying,
"Hey Dusty, the fat [expletive] on the end, he's worried about my on-base percentage. Tell him you're having me bat eighth so he doesn't have to worry about my on-base percentage… Make him happy Dusty."
Phillips continues on in the recording,
"I'm tired of you talking that negative [expletive] about our team."
In case you forgot, in the August issue of Cincinnati Magazine, Phillips expressed that he believed his six-year, $72.5 million contract with the Cincinnati Reds was a "slap in the face" and that he'd been lied to by general manager Walt Jocketty.
