With the NBA Draft just around the corner, once again the NBA rumor mill is churning and for the second consecutive year, the Chicago Bulls find themselves in the midst of some regarding All-Star forward, Luol Deng. Word spread earlier in the week that there had been talks between the Bulls and the Washington Wizards regarding a deal centered around the 3rd pick in Thursday’s draft and the Bulls’ small forward.
Rumors also surfaced earlier Wednesday that Portland Trailblazers’ All-Star power forward, Lamarcus Aldridge, had been showing signs of interest in playing for the Bulls alongside former MVP, Derrick Rose, upon his return from his ACL injury over a year ago. While a trade for Aldridge is highly unlikely, it’s still worth noting Aldridge’s agent is Arn Tellem, who is known to have had strong ties to Bulls owner, Jerry Reinsdorf. The Bulls have also been linked to rumors surrounding former top 5 pick, Thomas Robinson. The Bulls and the Cleveland Cavaliers are just two of the teams interested in Robinson.
Ultimately, it’s highly unlikely the Bulls make a move on Thursday. They have always been heavily involved in the rumor mill around the draft, but have typically not followed through with any big moves. Look for the Bulls to probably draft a back up center or wing player to shore up their roster as they prepare for a hopefully healthy run at the 2013-2014 season.
