The Chicago Blackhawks are back on the ice tonight as they play host to the Florida Panthers. The Blackhawks have failed to pick up a win in their last three games and are winless in December. The Panthers have won two straight. This is the second and final meeting between the two teams. The Blackhawks won the first meeting on October 22 3-2 in a shootout.

Here are some notes for tonight's game:

  • Forward Andrew Shaw will be back in the lineup for the Blackhawks tonight after missing two games with an upper-body injury.
  • Patrick Kane's 34 points ranks fourth in the NHL. His 16 goals rank tied for fifth.
  • The Panthers are one of four teams to have a perfect winning percentage when leading after two periods.
  • Kris Versteeg, Jimmy Hayes and Dylan Olsen will all be squaring off against their former teams tonight.

Battle Between The Pipes

Chicago Blackhawks: Corey Crawford (17-6-3, 2.49 GAA, .906 SV%)

Crawford leads the NHL with 17 wins, but has lost two straight. He has still yet to record a shutout on the season. Crawford will try to get back on track and blank the Panthers tonight.

Florida Panthers: Scott Clemmensen (0-1-1, 3.08 GAA, .879 SV%)

Clemmensen is appearing in only his fifth game of the season. He has allowed eight goals on 66 shots and has yet to pick up a win for the Panthers. Clemmensen will need to be at his best tonight against a hungry Blackhawks team.

Players To Watch

Chicago Blackhawks: Forward, Patrick Sharp: 11 G, 13 A, 24 P

Sharp ranks fourth on the Blackhawks in goals and points. He has failed to record a point in three of his last four games. Sharp has put 117 shots on net so far this season, which ranks fourth-most in the NHL

Florida Panthers: Forward, Scottie Upshall: 6 G, 11 A, 17 P

Upshall leads the Panthers with 17 points. He has six points over his last six games, but saw his five-game point streak come to an end last night. He will try to get back into the scoring column tonight.

X Factors

Chicago Blackhawks: Forward, Kris Versteeg: 4 G, 10 A, 14 P
