Chicago Bears G.M. Phil Emery addressed the team's impending free agent quarterbacks today in a chat with fans on

"We like both Jay and Josh and we'll be working after the season to address both their contract situations. We like both Jay and Josh and we'll be working after the season to address both their contract situations."

Jay Cutler could receive the franchise tag if the team is unable to come to terms on a long term agreement, and Emery decides to continue the relationship.  However, that would most likely require a financial commitment, albeit for just one year, much higher than Cutler would receive per season on a long-term contract.

Meanwhile, backup Josh McCown has proven to be a strong and effective backup, and it's likely the team would be keen on retaining his services.  McCown has thrown for more than 1,400 yards and nine touchdowns in 2013, with just one interception.
