The Chicago Bears signed two players for depth Monday, after healing up over the bye week.
With starting QB Jay Cutler expected to miss at least another five weeks, G.M. Phil Emery brought back quarterback Jordan Palmer, who was with the team in the preseason.
Palmer went 12 for 18 with 116 yards and a score in the preseason, and will back up Josh McCown.
Meanwhile, with Lance Briggs also on the shelf for several weeks, the team added linebacker Larry Grant.
Grant is a five year veteran with 11 career starts for the San Francisco 49ers and St. Louis Rams. He has extensive special teams experience, which will add value for the Bears as well.
Both players were on hand for practice Monday.
