Continuity on the coaching staff has been the theme of the Carolina Panthers' brief but busy offseason.
Over the past two weeks, the team has filled four vacant positions with in-house candidates.
On Friday, the Panthers finally elected to hire an outsider.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, New York Giants assistant Al Holcomb has been hired as the new linebackers coach.
Panthers hired former Giants assistant coach Al Holcomb as their linebackers coach. Google Holcomb from last season's SB. Great story.

Carolina also interviewed former Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder and former Panthers linebackers coach Bill Davis following the firing of Warren Belin early this month.
Before joining the Panthers, Holcomb, who has never been a position coach in the NFL, spent four seasons as a defensive assistant with the Giants. He also served as the defensive line coach for Lafayette College from 2006-2008.
