The Carolina Panthers added some depth at tight end Tuesday, adding former UCLA standout Nelson Rosario to the 90-man roster.
Panthers fans may be familiar with another tight end named Rosario – Dante Rosario spent his first four NFL seasons in Carolina before moving onto Miami and currently, Denver.
The latest Rosario tight end, Nelson – who is not related to Dante – joins the Panthers after being waived by Jacksonville.
The 6-foot-5, 225-pound was a pass-catching extraordinaire for the Bruins last season, hauling in 64 catches for 1,161 yards. His 146 career receptions and 2,362 career receiving yards rank fifth in UCLA history.
To make room for Rosario on the roster, the Panthers waived running back Princeton McCarty.
