The tournament runs May 9-25 from Minsk and will also feature Sabres assistant coach Joe Sacco and athletic trainer Tim Macre.

McCabe has had a busy few months since the completion of his junior season at the University at Wisconsin. McCabe earned first-team All-Big Ten on his way to a career best 25 points ( 8 goals, 17 assists) in 33 games. Since then, McCabe signed an entry-level deal with the Sabres where he played seven games for the blue and gold, earning an assist.

The 20-year-old was an assistant captain at Wisconsin and was also the captain of the United States Men's National Juniors Team at the World Junior Championships in Ufa, Russia. Team USA earned gold at the juniors.

The United States' first game in the tournament is May 9 against host team Belarus.
