The Buffalo Sabres continued their losing ways today as they were dismantled by the Boston Bruins 4-1.
The loss is Buffalo's sixth-straight, and the Bruins clinched the President's Trophy with the win. Buffalo's season was over a long time ago, but the real story of the game is how many injuries were sustained by members of the Sabres.
Matt Hackett was taken off of the ice on a stretcher after a collision with Torey Krug. Hackett gripped his right leg and was in tremendous pain. Along with Hackett, the Sabres lost Brian Flynn, Chris Stewart, Christian Ehrhoff and Matt D'Agostini during the game.
As brutal as this season has been, the Sabres must be thankful that tomorrow's game against the Islanders will be their final game of the season. They have been hindered by injuries, while the organization suffered its worst season possibly of all-time.
Buffalo will limp into tomorrow night's game against the Islanders looking for mercy. The Sabres have 60 game minutes left of this miserable season and will hope to just come out of it as healthy as possible.
