Luke Adam Warming up for Buffalo Sabres

After averaging nearly a goal a game in Rochester this season, Luke Adam scored his first NHL goal of the season for the Buffalo Sabres last night, and hopes there are plenty more to come.

Adam was called up to Buffalo once Ted Nolan took the team over and has had plenty of chances to get on the score sheet. He says it felt good to finally get the goal he got last night.

"Yeah, it feels good," Adam said. "It's a relief. I think each and every game I've been playing since I've got here, I've been building a little bit at a time and getting more and more confident. I think I should have had a couple more (last night) than I had, but I won't complain with the one."

Adam played arguably his best game of the season last night in Buffalo's 3-2 overtime win over the Toronto Maple Leafs. He was around the net constantly, where he said he scored most of his goals for Rochester,

Adam will hope to start a scoring streak for the Sabres, who broke a few slumps with last night's victory. The Sabres went into their game against Toronto losing their last five, and scoring just one goal in each of their last four games. To make a long story short, the Sabres are desperate for production from Adam, and the rest of the team for that matter.

Buffalo will get a chance to build off last night's win right away as they play the New Jersey Devils tonight. The Devils are also having a tough season, posting a 10-11-5 record thus far this season, but have won six of their last 10 games. Both teams got a win last night and will be hungry for another one tonight.
