Corey Tropp and Marcus Foligno may miss some games due to their injuries. Foligno was checked into the boards in the third period and landed awkwardly. Tropp had to be removed from the game with the help of trainers when he had his head driven to the ice during a fight with Jamie Devane.
"They’re obviously a big part of our team. They’re both gritty players so anytime anybody gets injured on our team, it’s a concern, but those two players are important players for us," coach Ron Rolston said.
Cody McCormick should return for Wednesday's home game against the Columbus Blue Jackets, though. He knocked a puck down with his hand in the second period.
There is no word yet from the NHL on whether any suspensions will result from the game, during which 224 penalty minutes were handed out and both goalies took part in a six-on-six brawl. Phil Kessel repeatedly jabbed John Scott multiple times with his stick on two separate instances during the fight, while David Clarkson left the bench to jump on Scott. Players who leave the bench to fight generally receive 10-game suspensions.
