Of the three players the Buffalo Sabres traded to playoff teams, Robyn Regehr is the only one to advance to the second round.
Regehr was traded to the LA Kings, who beat Jordan Leopold's St. Louis Blues in six games. Jason Pominville was sent to Minnesota, who was beaten by the Chicago Blackhawks in five games.
The Kings won four straight, after dropping the first two games of the series. Regehr, known as the stay-at-home defenseman, did his job well for LA, earning one assist while staying even in the plus/minus department.
The second opponent for LA will be contingent on the Anaheim Ducks and Detroit Red Wings series, which is going to a game seven.Tags: Buffalo, Buffalo Sabres, Hockey, NHL
