Buffalo Sabres prospect Jake McCabe will wear the captain's C when Team USA opens the World Junior Championships Thursday in Russia.
McCabe was a second-round pick out of Wisconsin in June. The sophomore defenseman has two goals and seven assists in 16 games for the Badgers this season. He will be coached by former Sabres defenseman Phil Housley.
