Add the Buffalo Sabres' Jason Pominville to the growing list of Sabres opting to play overseas while the lockout lingers.
Pominville told the Buffalo News he's signed with Adler Mannheim of the German elite league. He will head across the pond next week.
The Sabres played an exhibition game against Mannheim last season prior to their season-opening game there.
Other Sabres playing overseas include Christian Ehrhoff and Alexander Sulzer (Germany), Tyler Myers and Tyler Ennis (Switzerland), Andrej Sekera (Slovakia), Jhonas Enroth (Sweden) and Mike Weber (Norway). Thomas Vanek played 11 games in his native Austria but returned home to be with his family.
Two days of negotiations with a mediator this past week got the NHL and its players association no closer to a deal. The two sides are now considering a meeting with players and owners only. All games are canceled through Dec. 14.
