The NHL and its player's association met Saturday for the first time in more than two weeks in an attempt to get the ball rolling toward a new CBA.
The face-to-face meeting between NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly and NHLPA Special Counsel Steve Fehr lasted for several hours and the two sides have plans to meet again.
"We had a series of meetings over the course of the day and had a good, frank discussion on the most important issues separating us," Daly told NHL.com. "We plan to meet again early in the week."
The NHL has canceled its season through Nov. 30 and also canceled the Winter Classic. The two sides hope that they can get a deal done before more games, or even the entire season is canceled.
"I agree with what Bill (Daly) said," Steve Fehr said in a statement reported by NHL.com. "Hopefully we can continue the dialogue, expand the group, and make steady progress."
