Buffalo Sabres prospect Jake McCabe has been invited to USA Hockey's national Junior Evaluation Camp in Lake Placid.

The camp is for the nation's best under-20 players for possible inclusion on the USA's roster at the 2013 IIHF World Junior Championship. All but three of the cam invitees have already been drafted by NHL clubs.

McCabe was Buffalo's second-round choice in the 2012 NHL Draft. The defenseman scored three goals and nine assists in 2011-12 for the University of Wisconsin as a freshman. He intends to return to school in 2012-13. He's considered Buffalo's seventh-best prospect by NHL.com.

The camp is coached by former Sabres defenseman Phil Housley, who scored 338 goals and 894 assists in 1,495 career NHL games. Housley also represented Team USA at the Word Juniors, Canada Cup, World Championships, World Cup and Olympics.

The camp runs from today through Aug. 11.
