The Buffalo Sabres hope they can end their two-game slide when they take on the Columbus Blue Jackets Thursday at the First Niagara Center at 7 p.m.

The Sabres are coming off of back-to-back losses to the Tampa Bay Lightning and are hoping to rebound. The opportunity to snap out of their rut will present itself Thursday, as the Blue Jackets have struggled mightily this season. Columbus was the last team to get a victory this season, which came Tuesday night against the Detroit Red Wings. However, defenseman James Wisniewski returned to the lineup Tuesday and seemed to spark the club.

"it's tough to say that one guy can win a hockey game," Blue Jackets goaltender Steve Mason told nhl.com. "But having Wiz back there is huge. His confidence, not just in the way he plays but in the way he carries himself kind of rubs off on the guys, especially the younger ones."

Columbus has also been bit by the injury bug as Jeff Carter, Kristian Huselius, Mark Dekanich, Curtis Sanford and Jared Boll are all out for the Blue Jackets. Buffalo will be without Tyler Ennis and Jochen Hecht.
