About the Authors
Paul Lane
Paul Lane
Editor Paul Lane has worked as a professional journalist in Western New York since graduating from Syracuse University with a journalism degree in 2000. He's covered events of all kinds at all levels for YNN, Sabres 101, Niagara Frontier Publications, the Tonawanda News, Niagara Gazette, Buffalo News and New York Times. A born and raised Buffalonian, he's also seen the Bills through the best of times and the worst of times (the Music City Miracle really was a forward lateral).
Anthony Custode Jr
Writer Anthony Custode Jr. graduated from Buffalo State College in 2009 with a degree in journalism. He was an intern for Greater Niagara Newspapers and also served as a freelance writer for them. He had his own blog, All Pro Pulse, for about a year. Anthony is currently a writer for Sabres 101 along with Bills 101.
Mike Matisz
Writer Mike Matisz has a degree in journalism from Buffalo State College. Since then, he has written for Bee Group Newspapers, a set of weekly newspapers in Western New York, examiner.com as a Buffalo Bills reporter, and allpropulse.com as a sports writer. A former Bills season ticket holder as well as an avid NFL fan, Mike religiously sits in front of his T.V. or in the stands in support of the Bills.
Samuel Gerould
Writer Samuel A. Gerould has been writing for several years. Prior to becoming senior assignment editor for a television news network, he worked as an editor and reporter for group of local newspapers. In his spare time, he loves to cheer on the Bills and Sabres. He's living in Buffalo and is enjoying getting to know the city.
Paul McCarthy
Writer Paul McCarthy played football at the University of Buffalo and has coached at the youth and high school levels for 16 seasons. He is a lifelong Bills fan and was in the stands for the greatest game in Buffalo sports history, The Comeback, in 1993. His earliest Bills memory, ironically enough, is the team's loss to the Chiefs in the 1966 AFL Championship game, which cost them a berth in the first Super Bowl. He has also been a contributing writer for Sports and Leisure Magazine.
