The Buffalo Bills are set to talk to the agent of safety Jairus Byrd on Saturday at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis in hopes of getting the safety under contract for 2014.

Bills general manager Doug Whaley confirmed the meeting earlier this week. He and Eugene Parker will meet in hopes of getting Byrd signed long-term.

Whaley and Parker are no strangers. The two met numerous times around this time last season in a failed attempt to sign Byrd. The Bills ended up making Byrd a franchise player – an option they could choose again this season, which would lock him up for one season.

"Obviously, we want to have all our free agents back, but in this system, that's going to be hard to do. With the salary cap, you can't get everybody, but we're in touch with every one of the agents for our prospective free agents."

Byrd made the Pro Bowl this past season, tying for the team lead in interceptions (four) despite missing five games.
