Entering their AFC East tilt, the Miami Dolphins have many focuses on both offense and defense in an attempt to defeat the Buffalo Bills. Their top priority on offense? Stopping the Bills pass rush.
There is one player that the Dolphins are going to focus on more than any, and that's Bills' defensive end Mario Williams.
“He has the ability to take over a game,” said Dolphins tackle Tyson Clabo of Williams. “It’s our job to make sure that doesn’t happen.”
With the extra week to prepare for the Bills, the Dolphins have been focused on offensive line work more than anything, as the line has been their downfall so far this season, allowing defenses to get through to quarterback Ryan Tannehill and fill the gaps to stop the run.
“We realize all eyes are on us,” said guard Richie Incognito. “It’s time to get going no matter what it takes.”
For the Bills, the pass rush has been better than last year. Williams has eight sacks alone and the rest of the defense has 12.5. The secondary has benefited from this by grabbing 10 interceptions.
If the Bills wish to get back into the win column, it will rely on their ability to get to Tannehill and disrupt the potent Dolphins offense.
So far, it appears that the Bills defense remains healthy and should be able to get the job done if they execute. The Bills kick off against Miami Sunday at 1:00 p.m. from Sun Life Stadium in Miami.
