Justin Rogers had an atrocious game for the Buffalo Bills Sunday, giving up two long touchdowns to an offense led by Geno Smith, of all people.
Rogers says he has put his embarrassing performance behind him, and will look to this week for improvement.
“Yeah I think I’ve been able to do for the most part,” Rogers told Buffalobills.com. ”It was unfortunate and I was kind of hard on myself. The thing about this game is you’ve got to move on and I think my teammates and especially coaches they’ve really been pushing me to move on. By them telling me to move on and short term memory and getting out there today and being able to practice I kind of put it behind me.”
With Rogers' performance on tape, Baltimore's offense must be salivating at the chance to target him for big plays down the field. Joe Flacco could use a big game, as he has struggled this season, and Rogers knows he will see plenty of action.
“It’s definitely an opportunity to make plays,” Rogers told Buffalobills.com. ”This game is about making plays when you look at it. The more opportunities you get, the more times you get thrown at, the more opportunities to make a play so you’ve got to accept the challenge.”
Rogers will need to step his game up if he hopes to have any success against the speed of Torrey Smith. Smith is Baltimore's No. 1 receiver and will likely take Rogers deep, just as Santonio Holmes did Sunday. The difference is Rogers knows he needs to be more aware and look for the ball. Hopefully, for Rogers and Bills fans, he displays a better performance.
