The Buffalo Bills had to place defensive lineman Alex Carrington on injured reserve, which opened up a roster spot to fill the void of losing a player for the season.
To fill that spot, the Buffalo Bills signed defensive lineman Jay Ross, who had originally made the team out of the preseason but was cut to make room for Johnny Adams when he was promoted from the practice squad to help with a depleted cornerback group.
Ross, who can play end or tackle, had the entire preseason to work with the defensive scheme and is very familiar with the players and coaches.
Additionally, the Bills released defensive end Izaan Cross from the practice squad to sign defensive lineman Adewale Ojomo. Ojomo appeared in one game with the New York Giants last season and had spent time on the Seattle Seahawks practice squad as well.
