Despite a minor knee procedure two weeks ago, Manuel was back at practice on Monday and was immediately put into an array of tests to ensure that the quarterback was 100% ready and mobile in case of pressure from the defense.
"Each day my injury has gotten better, and I’ve been doing two or three treatments a day," said Manuel. "That’s helped me a lot."
The team has no doubts that Manuel is ready to go and that places undrafted free agent Jeff Tuel as the backup for Sunday's tilt.
Despite the fact that Manuel wasn't supposed to return to practice until Wednesday, his quick recovery didn't surprise him at all.
"I’m not really surprised," he said. "I try to work hard at everything. I can control whatever I can control, and I can control trying to get my knee better, and that’s what I’ve done."
Manuel has stated that he will not have the injury in the back of his mind during the game and will have complete focus on the Patriots.
"When you play, and if you’re going to play, you can’t think about any injuries that you have, whether it’s something you had a procedure on, or a sprained finger or something like that," he said. "You've just got to go out there and play."
The Bills play the Patriots Sunday at 1:00 p.m. from Ralph Wilson Stadium.
