Buffalo Bills linebacker Nigel Bradham was reportedly charged in suburban Buffalo with marijuana possession.

The Tonawanda News reported Monday afternoon Bradham was pulled over on Sheridan Drive, a couple miles north of Buffalo in the Town of Tonawanda, about 2 a.m. Saturday. The smell of marijuana came from his car, and he was found with a small amount in his possession. He was ticketed and released.

The charge carries only a fine in New York state. But it could lead to NFL discipline, up to a four-game suspension for violating the league's drug policy.

The Bills, in a statement released Monday evening, reserved judgment:
"We are still in the process of gathering the facts surrounding this report, and will reserve comment until we have completed that process."
The 23-year-old Bradham is entering his second season. He started 2012 as a reserve linebacker but worked his way into the starting lineup by season's end. He finished the year with 57 tackles and one fumble recovery.
