Te Boston Celtics lost their second straight game last night. This time to the floundering New York Knicks. However, without Rajon Rondo and up against 34 points from Carmelo Anthony and 22 points off the bench by Tim Hardaway Jr. it was a tough mountain to climb.
Jeff Green was a bright spot for the Celtics. Scoring 27 points. He has scored 20+ points in six of his last ten games, including three games of 27 points.
The Knicks buzz saw started early. Coach Brad Stevens said, ”they were in a good rhythm. It started with Carmelo hitting those in isolation.”
The Celtics could not overcome the early onslaught and settled in for a comfortable win.
Looking ahead the Celtics are knee deep in tough games. The New Orleans Pelicans, Phoenix Suns, and Dallas Mavericks are next on the docket for this Celtics team. Given the Celtics record against Western Conference teams this two game losing streak could make it’s way to at least five games.
