The Celtics? Rajon Rondo could be that building block. But he turns 28 in February, has posed chemistry issues in the past and there is an increasing belief among NBA circles that GM Danny Ainge will use him, once healthy, to get multiple assets back. So the chances that he's the Celtics' cornerstone moving forward look slim.
Obviously, there seems to be little assurance that this is a sure thing. It's just more spaghetti being thrown at the wall. What is the best way to handle this Rajon Rondo situation? Is he truly the answer for the Celtics? At 28, with a reconstructed knee and only about 100 games left before his contract runs out. A lot of reasons can be given for trading Rondo.
We know Danny Ainge is willing to trade anyone. Kendrick Perkins, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Doc River know that. If the price is right, it might be time to part ways with the mercurial point guard.
