Amar’e Stoudemire Might Be a Perfect Fit for the Boston Celtics

According to ESPN's Chris Broussard in a tweet on Sunday night, the Boston Celtics are open to the possibility of acquiring Amar'e Stoudemire if the New York Knicks were willing to take on some of the Celtics bad contracts: Gerald Wallace and Courtney Lee being two of the names being thrown around.

Stoudemire could be a fantastic fit for the Celtics considering his inability to stay on the floor, his innate ability to inhibit an offense from flowing successfully, and his desire to steal the spotlight from all his teammates. His salary is astronomical, however, it would only be for two years. Wallace is signed for three years, meaning the Celtics would be out from under more bad contracts faster if they could get Stoudemire in green and white.

The other issue with Wallace and Lee is that they seem to be very interested in winning games and playing hard. Wallace has been outspoken about the effort that the team has put forth, Stoudemire will never complain about effort, because he's typically the one giving the least effort possible.

Obviously, the Knicks are looking for Rajon Rondo in the deal considering they are trying to win as soon as they can. Danny AInge said this week that Rondo is "going nowhere." New York, a rival, would not be a logical place for the Celtics to trade Rondo if they did end up trading him.

Stoudemire will probably not end up in green and white, however, if Danny AInge could get him here it would be a perfect fit for a team that is trying to lose and free up some cap space. It has seemed everything Stoudemire has touched recently has turned to rust. In Celtics' fans minds, rust means a top three pick.
