On Wednesday, Bruins head coach Claude Julien told reporters that defenseman Dougie Hamilton would miss 2-4 weeks with he described as a "lower-body" injury.
Hamilton suffered the injury in the first period against the Maple Leafs on Sunday night. He did not return to the ice from the locker room, and after the game, he flew back to Boston for an official medical diagnosis.
The good news for Boston, is that defenseman Johnny Boychuck is expected to be back in the lineup after missing the last three games with lower back problems as a result of the hit he received from Canadiens forward Max Pacioretty last Thursday.
