The Boston Bruins are at the TD Garden today packing up their gear and getting ready for the offseason. It also might be the last time some of these players will be in the home locker room. One of those players is Andrew Ference.
Ference: "I'll be playing next year just not here."
— Joe McDonald (@ESPNJoeyMac) June 26, 2013
Ference is an unrestricted free agent and seems to have accepted that with a lower salary cap and younger players ready to step in, his time in Boston may be up.
Barring something drastically changing, Ference will be playing elsewhere next season and will be missed in the Bruins locker room. But with Torey Krug and Matt Bartkowski proving that they are ready for the NHL, it seems that Ference may be the odd man out.
But we never know with Peter Chiarelli. He may work out some trades that allows Ference to come back. We'll just have to wait and see.
