How will the 2012 season progress with Kellen Moore no longer being the field general? Many Bronco Nation fans may be apprehensive but rest assured, Coach Peterson will work his magic and provide a competitive balance at the QB position.
This spring season showcased the talent level of the four possible starting quarterbacks. Filling the shoes of Moore and all his records can seem overwhelming but junior QB Joe Southwick, last year's back-up, has shown he has the skills to perform on the field. He may appear to be the possible starter, but Coach Peterson has not yet divulged his intentions. The three remaining players fighting for the spot are sophomore Grant Hedrick, second year player Jimmy Laughrea, and true freshman Nick Patti. All three have the credentials to be a starter but when it comes down to it, the one that can digest the offensive game plan and lead the team through adversity will be the ultimate choice for Peterson.
Who knows what the outcome will be for the Broncos this year. Expectations are not that high but Bronco Nation does expect competitive and hard nosed football. Will the next Kellen Moore step out into the limelight and create his own legacy or will the pressure of Big time football curtail the winning formula of the Boise State Broncos? We will find out soon when they visit Michigan State on August 31.
