Ever since the season has started, wide receiver Brandon Stokley has struggled to stay on the field as he has dealt with a groin injury for most of the season, but on Sunday he found himself again on the sidelines after suffering a concussion.
“Stokley has a concussion, so he’ll go through the concussion protocol,” Harbaugh said during his Monday press conference. “We’ll have to see how that shakes out. Unfortunately, he’s had a number of those in his career, so that could be problematic for us. We’ll have to see in the next 24 hours or so.”
It is just the latest hiccup in the road for Stokley, who was looking to make a difference for this team in his second stint in Baltimore.
Linebacker Elvis Dumervil was a scratch for Sunday's game as he dealt with an ankle injury that he suffered on Thanksgiving Night against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
“I think Elvis has a chance for next week,” Harbaugh said. “He looks pretty good today. It’s kind of a bruise in his ankle, so we’ll just have to see where he’s at. I was hopeful for him this week, so I’ll be more hopeful for him next week.”
Dumervil leads the team in sacks and will be a welcome addition back to the offense on Monday Night as they take on the potent Detroit Lions offense.
Dennis Pitta made his much anticipated season debut on Sunday and the best news of all is that he came out of the game healthy and got the first one out of the way.
“I felt good throughout the game and didn’t think about my hip, which is encouraging going forward, and [I] was able to just go out and play,” Pitta said after the game Sunday.
