The Baltimore Ravens will have two lingering injury questions heading into this Sunday's matchup against the Minnesota Vikings as LB Elvis Dumervil will be a game time decision on Sunday and TE Dennis Pitta's status uncertain.
Ravens Head Coach John Harbaugh spoke to the media today and touched on both Dumervil and Pitta.
Harbaugh stated that Dumervil would be a game time decision as he continues to deal with a ankle injury that he suffered last week against the Steelers during the first half of that game. Dumervil did come back to finish the game, but you never know how he is going to feel when he warms up, especially since he is listed as doubtful.
The much anticipated return of Pitta to the Ravens offense could come on Sunday. Harbaugh said that Pitta is "on schedule" and has a "reasonable chance to play" on Sunday but he was noncommittal.
If Pitta is going to play on Sunday, he would have to be activated on the 53-man roster by 4pm tomorrow.
It is expected that if Pitta does play on Sunday, he would still be restricted to a limited workload as he works his way back from the dislocated hip he suffered back at the beginning of training camp.
Pitta also spoke to the media today.
"I felt good all week. It's nice to get back in and go through full practices. We'll see." Pitta said on whether or not he plays on Sunday.
He continued on when asked about full blown contact, "It's not something you can simulate even in practice. It'll be nice to take that first hit and see how it feels."
Seeing Pitta back on the field would be a welcome addition to the Ravens offense, especially he can be fully active in their final three games as Baltimore continues their push to a sixth consecutive playoff appearance.
