Despite the fact that the Baltimore Ravens came out on the wrong end of a 19-17 ugly type of game, they still had several standout performers this week and today we are going to highlight those players.
Sometimes it’s extremely difficult to narrow the list down to a handful of players as standout performers and other times it’s difficult to even come up with a few guys as standout performers, but this week it was pretty straightforward as to who should be on the list.
Doss has really been coming on as of late in the return game, but Sunday he came through on offense as he was reeling in some tough catches over the middle of the field. His play was important because the Packers had all but eliminated Torrey Smith from the game, thus someone needed to step up. That’s exactly what Doss did as he caught four passes for 99 yards in the game. He is slowly emerging as a legitimate option for Joe Flacco in the passing game.
Although some have considered him to have been quiet thus far this season, his presence has been huge for Terrell Suggs as teams cannot simply double team him, thus leading to the tremendous start for Suggs. Sunday, Dumervil did some damage himself as he recorded two sacks in the game and forced two fumbles as well. Dumervil was all over the field for Baltimore on Sunday and the excitement around this pass rush is getting very loud around Charm City.
Baltimore has needed a tight end to step up all season, and although it was just one game, Clark seemed to do that for Flacco and the offense on Sunday. He reeled in four grabs for 81 yards and a touchdown this week and made the catches the offense needed him to make. Clark struggled with the drop earlier in the season, but is showing signs of improvement and seems to be getting on the same page as Flacco.
It may have been one ugly of a first half for the entire offense, but Flacco played extremely well on Sunday, especially considering he was sacked five times and consistently had defenders in his face all game. Joe completed 20 of his 34 pass attempts for 342 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions. Flacco spread the ball around hitting eight different receivers in the game.
