This morning, reports surfaced from the Baltimore Sun's Aaron Wilson that McClain received some positive news in regards to the heeling of his injury.
McClain received the good news during a recent MRI exam of the spinal cord contusion and the Ravens have made the stance that they would not consider letting McClain play, or even practice until there was no sign of the contusion any longer.
Currently, McClain is on the Physically Unable to Perform or PUP list that restricts him from being able to practice until after week six, and could not play in a game until week nine.
The return of McClain would be a great addition to the depth at middle linebacker that has seen Daryl Smith lead the way with other guys such as Josh Bynes, Arthur Brown and Albert McClellan get time as well, but all have had their struggles at times, so an experienced McClain would help with the middle linebacking core.
Of course, the best news of all of this is that McClain appears to be on the right track to simply being able to resume his playing career. Anytime you have an injury to the spinal cord, it is a scary proposition and the fact that he may be able to play again is as good of news as one could have hoped for in regards to his football career.
