It has been a few weeks since the Baltimore Ravens and Vonta Leach could not agree to a restructured contract and Baltimore chose to release him. Over the past few weeks, the NFL market has shown that the market for an All Pro fullback is not much.
Baltimore has continued to keep their eye on Leach in free agency as they did want to keep him, just for less money, and the fact that Leach is still out there shows that he is having trouble getting the type of contract he is looking for.
Almost immediately after being released, it appeared Leach was going to land in one of two places, either the Miami Dolphins or the Houston Texans. Leach had visited the Dolphins and was all set for a reunion with current Dolphins OC Mike Sherman, but the deal has stalled as reportedly Miami wanted to get a deal done last week, but Leach remains unsigned.
The issue with the Texans, where Leach had played for five seasons before coming to Baltimore in 2011, is that they do not have much salary cap space.
Leach has stated that he wants to get a deal done before the end of June, and as long as pride, or beef with Baltimore is not an issue, Ravens' fans could see a reunion between Leach and Baltimore. The question will be whether or not Leach has been offered a better deal than the one Baltimore offered him as a restructured contract last month.
