The Baltimore Ravens had their third and final day of the team's mandatory mini-camp and although there are several football related storylines around this team, it was the weather that was the biggest storyline yesterday as it forced the team to its indoor facility.
Here are some of the highlights from the third and final day of mandatory mini-camp for the Ravens.
Outside of the facility it was raining cats and dogs, but inside it was raining completions. Flacco was on point yesterday as he was distributing the football all over the field to several different receivers with superb accuracy. It has become obvious how well he knows the playbook and how comfortable he is with the routes because he is throwing balls to receivers before they are even open because he knows once the ball gets there the receiver will be open.
We haven't talked much about the second year kicker much this offseason, but he has continued to improve his craft after an impressive rookie campaign. Yesterday he drilled a 55 yarder with plenty to spare and would have likely been good from 60 yards out. One thing he got to do for his teammates yesterday was drill a field goal that marked the end of practice as the team stormed the middle of the field in appreciation.
The Ravens owner attended practice yesterday and was very personable as he seemed to be searching out the new acquisitions on the team, and more specifically the new faces on the defense as he was seen chatting with Elvis Dumervil and Chris Canty among others.
Although not serious, Baltimore had to deal with a couple injuries yesterday. TE Ed Dickson was held out of practice due to a groin strain, while OLB Adrian Hamilton suffered a back injury during practice and left the field early.
Overall it was a good three days for the Ravens in their final session with the veterans before training camp begins in late July. The rookies will be back next week, but it was nice to see most of the entire team on the field at the same time to get a small glance at how Baltimore could look come the regular season.
