Hardcore fans theoretically live and die with the success of their favorite teams, but all fans love to see when the players they watch on television or in person do something to help a cause because they have leverage that non-sports stars or celebrities do not have. Eight Baltimore Ravens did just that last week when they took time out of their day to help the Red Cross in supporting the victims of the devastating tornados that wrecked havoc in Oklahoma last week.

Corey Graham and his wife immediately began to think about what they could do after witnessing the devastation of the Oklahoma tornados on television. Through Grahams' brainstorming, Corey and seven other Ravens set up shop with the Red Cross of Baltimore this past Thursday to help raise money for the victims.

Graham, along with Torrey Smith, Lardarius Webb, Josh Bynes, Michael Huff, Anthony Allen, Bryan Hall and Asa Jackson, took time out of their schedule to sit at the Red Cross of Baltimore to sign autographs for a $20 donation to the Red Cross to support the victims of the horrible Oklahoma tornados.

Speaking on the efforts of Graham, his wife, and his teammates, Corey stated on the Ravens official website,

"It shocked me," Graham said. "To see disasters and tragedies happen like that, you just want to help out any way you possibly can."

"The last year has been amazing for us in Baltimore as players," Corey added. "We just wanted to come together to help wherever we possibly could. Say a tragedy happened in this area, you would want people in different places to come out and help."

It is great to see these high profile athletes come together and find a way to help a cause so far away from home. Baltimore is a very tight nit community that has the pride to call themselves Baltimorians, and when players of the Super Bowl Champion home town team go out into the community to help the city's Red Cross in efforts to support a part of the nation that has experienced a terrible tragedy, it makes you have that much more pride for Charm City.
