With a couple days of voluntary OTA's in the books for the Ravens, there is some news and notes that Ravens fans should be made aware of.

Arthur Brown:

Second round pick, LB Arthur Brown out of Kansas State, had sports hernia surgery a couple of weeks ago, following Baltimore's mandatory rookie mini-camp earlier this month. Despite the fact that the surgery will sideline Brown from the rest of the spring practice schedule, the projected starting inside linebacker for the Ravens will require four to six weeks to recover.

“He’s recovering from that,” Head Coach John Harbaugh said. “It’s a four-to-six week deal and he should be fine soon enough.”

Baltimore Ravens KR/WR Jacoby Jones Finishes Third in ‘Dancing with the Stars’

Jacoby Jones made it to the finals, but could not add the Mirror Ball Trophy to his growing trophy case, as he finished third in ABC's 'Dancing with the Stars' on the results show last night.

On the finale last night Jones, and his partner Karina Smirnoff performed their final dance of the season, which was a Salsa dance, and scored a perfect 30 out of 30, but it was not enough to take the title.

Country singer Kellie Pickler took home first place, and was considered the favorite to do so after a few weeks into the competition.

Jones did improve every week and finished in front of Olympic Gold medalist, Aly Raisman, who finished fourth.

Below is one of the dances Jones performed on Monday, where he freestyled and incorporated part of Seven Nation Army

Jones will not waste any time, as he will be back in Owings Mills tomorrow to take part in the Ravens' OTA's.

Congrats Jacoby on the top three finish, and you did Ravens Nation proud!

It may not be the regular season, or the preseason, or even training camp for that matter, but the Baltimore Ravens begin Organized Team Activities today and that gives Ravens Nation a taste of football.

As OTA's begin, there are several intriguing storylines for the Ravens and of course one of the bigger ones will be how both the drafted and signed undrafted rookies will look with most of the team there, and if they can begin to fit into Head Coach John Harbaugh's system.

Of course, first round pick Matt Elam and second round pick Arthur Brown are expected to fit right in and likely be starters once the regular season does begin, but the OTA's will give us all a look at how a defensive line with Haloti Ngata and third round pick Brandon Williams will be, and if Williams is destined to be a force on the D-line for years to come with the Ravens.

Baltimore Ravens’ M&T Bank Stadium Finishes 2012 Season Ranked Among NFL’s Best Stadiums

If you have ever been to a game at M&T Bank Stadium, the home of the two time Super Bowl Champion Baltimore Ravens, then you know how enjoyable it is. Several NFL related websites and NFL focused websites release an annual stadium rankings list, and M&T Bank Stadium ranks among the league's best.

Several areas were judged across the whole spectrum in these rankings and M&T has been ranked as high as second and as low as eighth, but the overall average seemed to put Baltimore in the fourth place range.

The Ravens were consistently in the top ten in most of the categories, and were at or just off the top in accessibility as you can drive and park at the games as well as ride the rail in, so if you want to get to a game at M&T, it is much easier to do so, then say our neighbors in Washington, where it is an absolute headache to get to the stadium.

Undrafted Free Agents Getting More Money from Baltimore Ravens than in Past Years

May 18th, 2013 at 10:50 AM

We have harped on it ever since the 2013 NFL Draft concluded, but the Baltimore Ravens love signing undrafted free agents and have quite a track record at finding very productive players. Baltimore has continued to find these guys this year, but have given higher signing bonuses than normal.

Leading up to the draft, all you seemed to hear about was how deep of a draft this class was on talent, as that has been evident by the amount of undrafted free agents being snatched up, but in Baltimore is shows more evident by the signing bonuses the Ravens are giving out.

The following list of players are past Ravens undrafted rookie free agents: running back Priest Holmes ($2,000 signing bonus in 1997), center Mike Flynn (no signing bonus in 1997), linebacker Bart Scott ($500 in 2002), linebacker Jameel McClain ($3,000 in 2008), linebacker Dannell Ellerbe ($2,000 in 2009) and kicker Justin Tucker (no signing bonus). This is quite an impressive list of key contributors for the Baltimore Ravens.

Baltimore, as you can see by the list of some of the previous Ravens undrafted free agents, traditionally does not spend a lot in signing bonuses for these players.
