Orioles101 Daily Minor League Rundown: 8/26 Affiliates Go 4-2, Frederick Keys Within 1/2 Game

Here is your daily Baltimore Orioles Minor League rundown with quick game summaries for each of the Orioles Minor League affiliates for the day. Keep in mind that we have kept this to the five major affiliates, but will give you periodic updates on the Orioles DSL and GCL teams as well throughout the summer.

AAA Norfolk Tides (62-75)

Tides win 3-0

  • Christian Walker went 2-4 with a double and RBI
  • Dariel Alvarez went 2-4 with a double, RBI and run scored
  • Miguel Chalas tossed four shutout innings in relief to pick up win in AAA Debut

AA Bowie Baysox (68-68)

Game 1

Baysox win 4-2

  • Chris Marrero and David Freitas hit back-to-back solo homers in the fifth inning
  • Anthony Vaquez allowed two runs over six innings for his 8th win

Game 2

Baysox lose 7-3

  • Chris Marrero went 2-3 with a home run and two RBI
  • David Freitas went 2-3
  • Julio DePaula allowed three runs (two earned) in 3 2/3 innings

High-A Frederick Keys (61-68)

Keys win 5-4, move to within a half game of a wildcard spot

  • John Ruettiger went 2-3 with a RBI, walk and run scored
  • Trey Mancini went 2-4 with a double and a RBI
  • Matt Taylor allowed two runs over five innings to pick up his 6th win

Low-A Delmarva Shorebirds (65-68)

Shorebirds win 5-3

  • Gregory Lorenzo went 4-5 with a double, RBI, and two runs scored
  • Anthony Caronia went 3-4 with a RBI
  • Mitch Horacek allowed just one run over seven innings

Short-Season A Aberdeen Ironbirds (23-46)

Ironbirds lose 5-2

  • Tanner Murphy went 1-3 with a RBI and a run scored
  • Austin Anderson went 3-4, hitting .314 this season
  • Brian Gonzalez (Orioles 3rd round pick in 2014 draft) allowed two runs in five innings and struck out six in his Ironbirds debut
